Welcome to Things Geeky🔗︎
This site is a combination between a diary and notepad. Articles document how I solved a problem, tips and tricks that I hope help others and brief notes serving as a memory jogger for those infrequent tasks. Subjects range from IT to woodwork.

When not earning my crust, my hobbies and interests all share a technical focus.
The term "DIY" strikes fear into my heart. I consider myself a craftsman. A close friend of mine who is in "the Trade" has an expression "We're not cutting diamonds." Perhaps not, but:

If a job is worth doing, do it properly or don't bother.
I've always wanted to build my own home. When I say "build", I wanted to do as much of the work as possible. I don't think I will ever realise the whole house, but I am in the process of building a 35m2 extension.
If any of these pages help you in your endeavours, then my efforts have been worth it.
Video
I've received several comments asking for videos. Personally, I don't get videos. I find a document much easier to scan read and extract the required information as opposed to endlessly replaying and pausing the critical part of a YouTube clip. In addition, in my line of work, technology moves on, meaning a video is soon out of date and I'd have to spend more time updating. Text takes seconds, videos takes hours.
Unless there's a compelling advantage to the reader, I will respectfully decline.
